MGM Resorts and Penn National Gaming have reportedly donated $1.8 million to a political group “The Committee to Protect Massachusetts Jobs”, which will lobby to defeat a bill that would repeal the resort casino proposal in Massachusetts. The amount of money that will be spent by pro-casino interests is much larger than anti-casino interests can spend in the campaign. A group called “Repeal the Casino Deal” is reported to have raised only $247,000.
